What are China's latest visa-free transit policies for foreign travelers?

The 240-Hour (10-Day) Visa-Free Transit Policy is available to nationals of 55 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, Australia, Japan, and Singapore.

Travelers can enter China visa-free through 65 designated ports in 24 provinces and stay for up to 240 hours (10 days) within the approved areas.

You must hold a valid passport and a confirmed onward ticket to a third country or region.

Click here to view the official policy and see if your country is included.

For Hainan tourists (our Program A), foreign nationals from 59 countries can enter Hainan Province without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. Click policies to view if your country is included.

For other tourists, please check China's National Immigration Administration's List of Countries Covered by Unilateral Visa Exemption Policies .

What should I do if my country is not on the visa-free list?

Please apply for a Chinese visa according to your country's entry requirements. If you need assistance with your travel itinerary or supporting documents for the application, you can contact our team for help at contact@cureinchina.org.

We strongly recommend that you obtain your visa before purchasing program A or B.

Do I need any apps for traveling in China?

Yes — we strongly recommend downloading Alipay (支付宝) and WeChat (微信) before you arrive in China.

Both apps allow you to make easy cashless payments anywhere — from restaurants and shops to transport and hospitals.

You can link your international credit or debit card within the app and use QR-code payments just like locals.

They're also useful for translation, maps, hotel check-in, and communication, making your stay in China much easier and more convenient.

Tip: Download and set them up before departure, since verification by SMS or email is easier while you're still at home.
